Thank you for visiting my website of nature photography. I live and work in Portland, Oregon. Whenever I
have the chance, I get out and photograph the landscape of the Pacific Northwest. My goal in making
photographs is not only to capture the beauty of the landscape that surrounds us, but also to continually learn
about and gain appreciation for the natural world. It seems that there is always a new aspect of nature to
discover -- whether it is a plant or animal species, a geological formation, a weather phenomenon, or simply a
change of seasons. I hope you enjoy the photos on this website.
About the Prints
All of my photos are available as signed prints. If you are interested in purchasing a print, please contact me
by e-mail: brad@bradcranephoto.com.
I make photographs using many different formats: 35mm, medium format (6x7) and digital. Each film image is
captured on professional color transparency (slide) film to ensure detailed photographs with excellent color
rendition. I then use a high quality scanner to create a digital file from each image.
I prepare each digital file for printing using methods that are similar to the methods used in a traditional
darkroom: I lighten and darken sections of prints, and I control contrast, color casts and tonal range. I do not
add or remove elements from my photographs (with the exception of processing artifacts like dust or
scratches on the transparency), and I do not use selective color enhancement. While it is important to me to
make the best print possible from each slide, it is equally important to me that all of my prints are true to the
original scene and to the original transparency.
Prints are made on Fuji Crystal Archive paper, using a Chromira Digital Printer. Fuji Crystal Archive paper is
rated to last, in normal lighting conditions, over 60 years without noticeable fading. All materials used in the
matting/backboard are of archival quality.
If you purchase a print and are not satisfied with it for any reason, it may be returned for a refund or exchange
for 60 days after purchase.
